Ataxic Gait Demonstration
The patient's gait is wide-based with truncal instability and irregular lurching steps which results in lateral veering and if severe, falling. This type of gait is seen in midline cerebellar disease. It can also be seen with severe lose of proprioception (sensory ataxia)
salam, dari practical class physiology baru-baru ni, Dr Abeer cakap, dalam exam praktikal nnt kite maybe akan disuruh untuk indentify "which type of gait" and then kene describe how the gait looks like. eg in ataxic gait, wide base, cannot walk on straight line, tendency to fall n etc..
and then, maybe diorg boleh tanye, "this gait happens ini Parkinson or Cerebellar disease?" n so on..
jadi, anda semua amat-amat digalakkan supaya tengok video-video di sini banyak kali supaya dapat bezakan ataxic gait dengan gait-gait yang lain.
